Blossom (Classic)

Updated: Jul 26, 2025

CHARACTER(S): Blossom

YEAR OF PRODUCTION: 1983, 1984 (hoof says 1982)

(The hoof saying 1982 indicates that the Collector's Pose was copyrighted a year before the ponies were actually released)

PLACE OF PRODUCTION: Hong Kong

MANUFACTURING COMPANY: Hasbro

TYPICAL PRICE ONLINE: $5 - $15

  • IDK why she's sold for so cheap so often - she's one of the more cheaply priced ponies. Perhaps it has to do with her large number of variations, and the fact that her and Cotton Candy both got 2 large-scale releases

  • Of course, her flat-footed brushable tends to sell for a little higher due to the novelty and relative rarity as compared to her concave-hooved counterpart

OTHER COMMENTS/INFO:

  • Italian name: Lilla

  • Greek name: Lili

  • Spanish name (Argentina): Capullo

  • Spanish name (Spain): Perla

  • Portuguese name (Brazil): Florzinha dos Campos

Release Info

  • Released in Year 1 (1982-1983) - One of the original 6 brushables ever released under the MLP name. She came with a white comb and white ribbon

  • She was released again in Year 2 (1893-1984). This second release sold her with a white brush instead of a white comb

    • In Year 2, she was released as part of the second set of ponies - It wasn't a random continuation, but a full second edition release. This set also included Bubbles, Applejack, Bow Tie, Seashell, and Cotton Candy, who was also a re-release.

  • She was also sold as a mail order pony in Years 2 and 3 (possibly later as well), in a set marketed around the idea of being able to get the original 6 ponies again. The mail order pony came with a white comb.

  • Had a re-release for MLP's 25th anniversary

Other Info:

  • Has an unusually large amount of brushable variants & Nirvanas - over 45!

  • Early Year 1 releases have her as a flat footed pony, while she has concave hooves in her later/subsequent releases. As such, her flat footed edition is more highly coveted - It is rarer, and indicative of her being one of the first ever ponies!

  • There is a Baby Blossom!

Media: Blossom appears in some of the MLP picture books, much not much else.

Personality: Blossom is a gardener, hence the cutie mark. Her personality isn't super well established, but we know she likes gardening, especially flowers. I can only assume she's good friends with Posey!

Her 1st Edition US Backcard writes: My Little Pony is a pretty pony with long, shiny hair. She likes you to comb her hair so it stays silky and soft. You can braid her tail and tie it in a ribbon too!

Her 2nd Edition US Backcard writes: Blossom was happily digging in the garden. Many of her favorite plants were in bloom and she was proud of her colorful garden. “Hi, Blossom,” said Peachy. “I’ve brought you a present. The noonday sun is terribly bright so I thought you’d like this sun hat.” Blossom was overwhelmed with Peachy’s nice gift. She reached down into the garden and brought up a beautiful bouquet of flowers. “Thank you, Peachy,” she said. “I want you to have a present, too.”

Her UK Backcard writes: Blossom keeps busy digging in her beautiful garden - as well as chasing Cotton Candy out of it! The ponies say that all the colours of the rainbow are reflected in her lovely flowers.

This website is purely for educational/archival purposes. I do not own the rights to My Little Pony, and most photos on this site are not my own. I provide image sources if the source is still available online, but there are far too many photos for me to ask each person for permission (and some are from users who are inactive or not possible to contact -- i.e., from sites like Worthpoint) - The whole point of the site is collecting as many photos as possible. I try to ask permission on social media or forums that I'm active on, especially if I'm using a lot of photos from one person. If you own one of the photos on this site and do not want it here, message me and I will remove it. This isn't meant to take credit from or upset anyone; It is just for fun and to help record the existence of these toys. If you are made uncomfortable by me using your photos, I will remove them for you.
