Media/Etc.

  • Applejack was in Rescue at Midnight Castle, the first ever MLP TV Special

  • She also appears in the G1 MLP Comics & in several picture books

  • "Seven Songs and a Story" was a G1 MLP vinyl picture disc, which included a variety of My Little Pony themed songs. There were songs themed around six little ponies, one of which was Applejack. "Applejack's Song" is also called "Who's A Silly Pony"

  • Applejack managed to be a character in not just G1, but in G3 and G4 as well!

  • In G4 she is one of the main characters

Personality: In G1 Applejack is described as a "silly pony". She is portrayed as clumsy and always getting into trouble on accident. She loves eating apples and sometimes focuses on that to the detriment of her surroundings.

  • Applejack is depicted in the UK Comics as being best friends with Bow Tie. Because of this, she and AJ are often paired up together in G1 merch from the UK, such as with much of the party supplies by Cross Paperware

Applejack plays only a minor role in G3. Her main personality trait is liking food and baking.

In G4, Applejack is very different. She is a hard-working pony who works at her family's apple farm. She is determined and diligent and sometimes a bit of a workaholic. She plays a protector role with her family and friends. She is loyal and dedicated to those she is close with, although she can be stubborn and overzealous, and sometimes has trouble accepting help from others. She is very athletic and extremely strong.

Her US Backcard reads: Bubbles was racing down the hill looking for a muddy spot to roll in. She stopped suddenly and laughed. "What a silly sight," she said. Hanging upside down in a tree like a monkey was Applejack. "How did you get up there?" asked Bubbles. Applejack whinnied in embarrassment. "I was jumping for apples. I jumped so high that I caught my heels on the branch." Bubbles sighed. "Your appetite for apples is always getting you in trouble, Applejack!" Then she helped Applejack out of the tree, and was treated to a fine red apple from her thankful friend.

Her UK Backcard reads: Applejack is a silly pony. She is always knocking over fences and looking over her shoulder to see where she has been. She loves apples and is frequently found in the Apple Orchard.

Her German Backcard reads: Ich bin ein sehr tolpatschiges Pony.

-- Translation: I'm a very clumsy pony. I stumble all the time and I'm terribly curious. That's why I keep turning around when running across the meadows so that I can see what's happening behind me. I have already knocked down many fences in Ponyland in the process. I prefer to eat apples and can usually be found in the apple tree pasture.

2nd Edition Applejack In Europe:

(Euro Collector's Pose AJ)

  • The UK got the regular second MLP set. Just like in the US, it was just titled "My Little Pony", but you could tell the 6 ponies were part of the same set because of them having the same packaging and release date.

  • The US got the same treatment for the third Earth Pony set, but in the UK it was given a moniker - "Groom and Style".

    • Additionally, Bow Tie got a bit of a style change. In the original set, she and Bow Tie were both in the "Shy Pose". This was the case in both the US and UK. But in the UK edition of the second set, they were put in the Collector's Pose.

    • She was sold with a green ribbon and pink brush, same is 2nd edition US AJ

  • Collector's Pose UK AJ is sort of like an honorary Nirvana, because of her region-based design difference, but she was made in Hong Kong just like standard MLPs, so is not a "full" Nirvana.

    • While mostly associated with the UK, she is also called Euro AJ, because she was sold outside of the UK as well

    • She was sold in France, Italy, and Germany

    •  The Hong Kong made version was sold in the UK, but there was also a Collector's Pose AJ made in Italy. This version was sold in Italy of course, but also is believed to be the version that was sold in Germany.

    • I'll refer to the Hong Kong version as Euro AJ, and the Italian made version as Italy Collector's AJ.

    • It appears Spain may have also produced their own Collector's pose AJ, though she was packaged the same as the Euro & Italy versions

  • The Argentinian AJ Nirvana is also in the Collector's Pose

  • There seem to be collector's pose Hong Kong produces AJs with her Year 2 hairstyle and length. Unsure what the reason for this is

    • Some definetly just have hair cuts, but I've seen some that have that distinct curve to the hair that make me thing they were made like that...
