OTHER COMMENTS/INFO:

  • Applejack was released in 1993 and 1994 (Years 1 & 2) in her standard brushable mold, and again in 1995 in the collectors pose in select countries

  • This Nirvana variant is particularly unique - As are all the South African Nirvanas! There is a different style of painting the eyes, the ponies often have different colors and new cutie mark designs! Also, they often mixed and matched body and head molds. They also have distinct hair colors that don't match up to any of the common pony hair colors.

    • This Applejack features the walking pose mold that was introduced with Moondancer, and the open-mouthed head mold that started with Firefly

    • She also is a much brighter orange than AJ's original brushable is, and has a newly designed cutie mark, most distinct due to it being all red instead of having green leaves

  • South African Nirvana ponies were sold only in South Africa, distributed by the South African toy company Prima Toys

    • (This company is still active and distrubuted MLP toys at least until G3)

    • The markings on the hooves, though less legible than common ponies, still say 'made in Hong Kong', meaning unlike most Nirvanas (seeing as the term just refers to G1 brushables), they were likely not made in the place they were exclusive too

  • These Prima Toys manufactured ponies were not the only ponies sold in South Africa; There were still at least a few standard/common MLP releases

    • All Prima Toys ponies documented so far are labeled as being from Year 2, so it's possible that they only manufactured their own MLPs during that year

This website is purely for educational/archival purposes. I do not own the rights to My Little Pony, and most photos on this site are not my own. I provide image sources if the source is still available online, but there are far too many photos for me to ask each person for permission - The whole point of the site is collecting as many photos as possible. If you own one of the photos on this site and do not want it here, message me and I will remove it. This isn't meant to take credit from or upset anyone; It is just for fun and to help record the existence of these toys. If you are made uncomfortable by me using your photos, I will remove them for you.
