OTHER COMMENTS/INFO:

  • Posey was released in early 1995 (Year 3) in an unofficial-prequel to the two prior unnamed sets which contained only Earth Ponies.

    • This set, along with Posey, included Lickety Split, Cherries Jubilee, Tootsie, and re-releases of Applejack and Bow Tie, who had been in the previous wave of Earth Pony sets

    • She came with a blue butterfly-shaped brush and a yellow ribbon

  • In late 1985 (Year 4) she was released as a So-Soft Pony

  • She got a full Retro re-release later on

Media:

  • Posey first appears in the 2nd G1 MLP TV Special, before becoming a main character in the G1 MLP TV Show

  • "Seven Songs and a Story" was a G1 MLP vinyl picture disc, which included a variety of My Little Pony themed songs. There were songs themed around six little ponies, one of which was Posey

Other Generations:

  • She was part of the inspiration behind G4's Fluttershy, one of the FiM main characters

  • She returned in G5 with the worlds ugliest color pallete.... In this version she is given the full name "Posey Bloom"

  • There is also a G3 pony named Rosey Posey

Personality: In the G1 TV Show, Posey is the gardener for Paradise Estate. She is caring, kind, and acts motherly towards the baby ponies. She loves flowers and other pretty things. She is always there to lend a helping "hoof".

Her US Backcard Reads: Posey was busily planting new rows of tulips in her garden when she spotted a fierce gray raincloud overhead. “The rain will wash away my newly planted tulip bulbs and ruin my garden,” she sighed. Parasol, racing through the clouds in search of the rainbow, heard her plea. “Don’t worry, Posey,” Parasol shouted. “I’ll protect your tulips.” Parasol jumped into the raincloud. She tossed her rainbow mane and tail and dozens of pretty parasols fell from the clouds to cover the tulip beds. “Thank you, Parasol,” Posey said handing her friend a bouquet of her finest tulips.

Her UK Backcard Reads: Posey loves her pretty garden and especially growing rows of her favourite tulip flowers. Posey’s garden is under the magic rainbow which chases away the grey rain clouds so that her pretty flowers are always blooming.

UK Releases

  • In the UK she was first sold in early 1985 (Year 3) as part of the Groom & Style Set

    • This set included Lickety Split, Posey, Tootsie, and Euro-Exclusive alternate-pose Bow Tie and Applejack

    • This version of Posey is the same as the one sold in the USA

    • She was sold with a blue comb and green ribbon

  • She was then released again in 1986 (Year 4), in an unlabeled set which included Posey, Cherries Jubilee, and the Euro-Exclusive ponies Hopscotch, Snowflake, Honeycomb, and G*psy

    • She was sold with a blue bird-shaped brush and pale green ribbon

    • In her classic US release, she has light pink tulips as her cutie mark. In this release she had dark, magenta colored tulips

    • The dark tulips are because UK Posey is an NSS version of So Soft Posey - SS Ponies have darker cutie marks so they can be seen through the flocking

    • This version of Posey was released in the UK instead of So-Soft Posey

    • Her hair appears to be a more white color - It's not uncommon for ponies with pink hair to have their hair fade over time, but this version of Posey appears to have white-toned hair even in MOC pictures!

    • The My Little Pony Scrapbook says there were never any white-haired Poseys, including in the UK, but I'm a little doubtful. It's hard to know, though.

In Other Countries

  • Two Italian Posey Nirvanas exist. One is near-identical to Hong Kong Posey, and was sold in countries outside of Italy. One is blue with pink hair (which usually appears yellow from fade) and was sold in Italy. Unclear if she was sold outside of Italy at all.

  • A Posey with pink hair and dark-colored Tulips was sold on a card with English and French titles and the backcard design from the UK Groom & Style set

    • This version was sold in Holland, Belgium, Sweden, and possibly elsewhere

    • This version was apparently sold in 1985, so may have actually existed before the better-known UK NSS Posey

  • There is also a version sold in Belgium that has the regular pink tulips, still with the Groom & Style backcard. It is also in English & French with no series title. This version may have just been Belgium's release of the UK Groom & Style Set

  • The light-tulip Belgium and Germany Posey releases are both Italian

    • The dark-tulip Belgium release appears to most likely be Hong Kong though

In My Collection!

One of the first ponies I got when I started properly collecting again! I got her from PureSalvation on Etsy in January of 2025. She arrived with a cute little bow, perfectly soft and styled hair, and no markings. At the time, absolutely the best condition G1 MLP in my collection! Her hair is faded, but I honestly didn't even notice until I got better acquainted with what the different G1 ponies are supposed to look like when new!
