CHARACTER(S): Sunbeam

YEAR OF PRODUCTION: 1983

PLACE OF PRODUCTION: Hong Kong

MANUFACTURING COMPANY: Durham Industries

TYPICAL PRICE ONLINE: $40 - $60 USD - Upwards of $80 in good condition

OTHER COMMENTS/INFO:

  • 4" Long x 3.5" Tall x 1.5" Deep

  • Battery powered - uses 9-volt battery

  • Transistor radio - A small portable radio that uses a semiconductor device called a transistor in it's circuitry. This type of radio is now obsolete, due to fragility, short lifespan, and excessive power use

  • Has a detachable lanyard-esque wrist loop (made of PCV) for portability

  • Hard to find in good condition

    • Often found with the paint peeling off, especially around her face

    • Often found with faded/fading colors, including having the logo faded off

    • Difficult to find working versions, which make sense (as mentioned before, transistor radios don't tend to live long) - but I have seen listings that at least claim that the radio they are selling still works, so some that weren't used much may still be working to this day

  • There is a Walkman-style tape player & headphones set that also features Sunbeam, which presumably is meant to match with this radio

  • Currently I have yet to find an in-box photo of it

This website is purely for educational/archival purposes. I do not own the rights to My Little Pony, and most photos on this site are not my own. I provide image sources if the source is still available online, but there are far too many photos for me to ask each person for permission - The whole point of the site is collecting as many photos as possible. I try to ask permission on social media or forums that I'm active on, especially if I'm using a lot of photos from one person. If you own one of the photos on this site and do not want it here, message me and I will remove it. This isn't meant to take credit from or upset anyone; It is just for fun and to help record the existence of these toys. If you are made uncomfortable by me using your photos, I will remove them for you.
