Release Info
Majesty was the Play Set Pony for the Dream Castle Play Set in late 1983
Dream Castle did have a second release, but it did not include Majesty
She was also available as a Mail Order Pony
She could be ordered for 4 Horseshoe Points + $18.00 (Source)
Accessories
The Dream Castle came with many accessories. For Majesty specifically, she got a yellow brush, a blue "damsel hat", a cape, a crown and four ribbons
The ribbons were blue, pink, purple and yellow
2 of the ribbons are for her hat, one is for her cape, and one is for her tail. Usually I see her with the blue ribbon on her tail; unsure if the playset instructions specify which ribbon is "supposed" to go where
Variants
Majesty has several noted variants just within her common, Hong Kong brushable
She can have either purple or blue eyes
Both purple and blue-eyed Majestys have been spotted sold with Dream Castle
Mail Order Majesty appears to only have been sold with blue eyes
It appears there may have been light vs dark purple & light vs dark blue variants, but this could be an issue of fading
Mail Order Majesty has her blue streaks mixed into her hair, rather than rooted as a separate bunch of hairs in the middle (in the style of ponies like Moondancer)
There are also differences in how far back her hairline is, but it's unclear if these correlate with the Playset vs MOP versions of her. It has been said that her MOP version has a mane that starts closer to her horn, but there's also claims that there are Playset Majestys with this sort of "full hairline" as well.
The way the irises/pupils of her eyes are drawn also has variation, which may differ based on if she is from Playset vs MO
Regarding Majesty's confusing variations:
Other Info
Seems like it might be common for her to come with mismatched head-body colors - At the very least I've seen more pictures of it than I usually do for ponies
Majesty has only one known Nirvana, from Italy
Technically, it appears that the Italian Majesty has three different variations...
The Italian Majesty is named "Re Unicorno" and is referred to as a boy
Media:
Majesty appears frequently in the UK G1 Comics - She is in almost every issue
She was in several G1 picture books
Majesty was one of the inspirations behind G4's Princess Celestia
Personality: In the world of G1 MLP (most clearly outlined in the UK comics), Majesty is the most powerful of all unicorns. Most unicorns have hyper specific magic skills related to talents or interests - Majesty's magic powers are wide-ranging and undefined, seemingly unlimited. By using her horn, her magic staff, magic mirror, or a song-spell, Majesty can perform advanced magic. She can grant any wish, including changing the weather!
Majesty fun facts!
She can turn other living beings into stone, into trees, or make them disappear into nothing
She lives in Dream Castle with Spike! Yay!
She owns a book named "The Magical World of Ponyland", which contains all information on Ponyland
She has a crystal ball and magic mirror, which help her see into the future
Can telepathically speak to others
Can ward away bad dreams?
She likes tea
