Gi-Go Old Gen - Bridle Ponies

  • Oct 29, 2025
  • 6 min read

CHARACTER(S): N/A

YEAR OF PRODUCTION: Pre 2010s?

  • These are older-gen Gi-Go fakies

  • It's hard to pinpoint when each one was released or made, because they lack copyright info and don't have as much documentation as a legitimate MLP, but we can assume they were released prior to the launch of G3.5, because the first Gi-Go molds that branched into their "new gen", modern style were based on G3.5 molds.

PLACE OF PRODUCTION: China

  • Copyright attributed to UK

MANUFACTURING COMPANY: Gi-Go

TYPICAL PRICE ONLINE: $5 or less

OTHER COMMENTS/INFO:

  •  These ponies use a body mold based on the G1 Tootsie pose, with a head pose that includes a sculpted bridle. Gi-Go produced other ponies with the same body mold, but different head molds

  • Some of these ponies have painted hooves while others don't

  • Some have painted bridles, while some are left unpainted

  • They appear to be based on (possibly ripping off) Buddy L Fakies

  • These ponies seem to have been sold with a corresponding Baby Pony that matches their color scheme, but has no cutie mark

  • Only info underneath hooves is "Made in China"

White Bow Fakie:

  • Either there's a more cream-toned variant and a more white-toned variant, or she's white and discolors yellow

  • Has version with green eyeshadow and version with pink eyeshadow

  • Commonly-used cutie mark choice for Gi-Go

  • Has version with hooves painted and with hooves unpainted

  • Bridle is unpainted

  • There's also a version where the bow has more rounded edges

  • Most have green hair, but there's one version with pink hair

Image sources:

Blue Bow Fakie(s):

  • Two different versions of blue ponies with this same cutie mark

    • Cutie mark is colored the same for both ponies

  • Both fakies have white-painted hooves, and unpainted bridles

Image sources:

Pink Bow Fakie(s):

  • Three different shades of pink are paired with this cutie mark

    • One is a more purple-toned pink, one is a neon pink, one is more of a light salmon pink. Cutie mark is colored the same for all ponies

  • All variants have painted hooves and unpainted bridles

  • Two ponies with the purple-toned pink color; one has blue hooves and one has white. The one with white hooves has a more pointed cutie mark than the others

Image sources:

Purple Bow Fakie:

  • Multi-colored hair (uncommon for fakies)

  • Rounded bow cutie mark

  • Unpainted hooves, unpainted bridle

  • This pony had a matching baby pony, using Gi-Go's Baby Zirkus Pony mold

Image sources:

Blue Bee Fakie:

Image sources:

White Balloon Fakie:

  • Unpainted hooves, painted bridle

Image sources:

Pinkie Pie Fakie:

  • Whether intentional or not this pony heavily resembles Pinkie Pie.

    • It's possible this was intentional, because while Gi-Go is an older company, they re-used molds throughout the years, seemingly still re-releasing older style molds post 2000s. They did not seem to swap to molds that resembled G3 (or G4) until after g3.5 came out

  • Unpainted hooves, unpainted bridle

  • Bright blue eye shadow

Image sources:

Pink Star Fakie:

  • Pink with pink hair, star cutie mark

  • Bright blue eyeshadow

  • Unpainted hooves, unpainted bridle

Image sources:

Parasol Fakie

  • The combination of pink fur and an umbrella-themed cutie mark makes this pony resemble Parasol

  • May be more common, because she's particularly easy to find photos of compared to some of the others

  • There's a version with dark blue hair, and a version with light blue hair

  • I think this cutie mark is a hatching egg?

  • Same color pallete as the above Fakie

  • Unpainted hooves, painted bridle

    • The light pink color, combined with the hair colors, resembles Parasol's color scheme

  • Cutie mark is two flowers - Uncommon Gi-Go cutie mark choice

  • Bright blue eye shadow

  • Unpainted bridle, unpainted hooves

This website is purely for educational/archival purposes. I do not own the rights to My Little Pony, and most photos on this site are not my own. I provide image sources if the source is still available online, but there are far too many photos for me to ask each person for permission (and some are from users who are inactive or not possible to contact -- i.e., from sites like Worthpoint) - The whole point of the site is collecting as many photos as possible. I try to ask permission on social media or forums that I'm active on, especially if I'm using a lot of photos from one person. If you own one of the photos on this site and do not want it here, message me and I will remove it. This isn't meant to take credit from or upset anyone; It is just for fun and to help record the existence of these toys. If you are made uncomfortable by me using your photos, I will remove them for you.
