OTHER COMMENTS/INFO:

Release Info

  • Caramel Crunch is a Candy Cane Pony from Year 7 (1988-1989)

    • Candy Cane Ponies were candy-scented with tightly curled stripey hair, made to resemble candy canes. They all were food themed

    • (In this way, they're very similar to Perfume Puff Ponies - gimmick ponies with a combined gimmick based on hair and scent)

    • Caramel Crunch is themed on caramel popcorn - She is most likely meant to smell like caramel, but the advertising does not specify each pony's intended smell

  • She came with a blue comb, a pink lollypop shaped barrette, and a green ribbon

Other Info

  • The impressively curled hair of the Candy Cane Ponies was part of their gimmick - So, even more than the average pony with curled hair, the quality of the pony's curls (how well preserved they are) contributes to their perceived value

  • Caramel Crunch does not have any known Nirvanas

Her US Backcard writes: It was raining all over Ponyland, so Caramel Crunch and Lemon Treats decided to go to a movie. "How about a snack for the show?" Lemon Treats asked her friend. Caramel Crunch knew just what to do! She blinked her eyes and ... POP-POP-POP ... the falling raindrops burst into yummy caramel-coated popcorn! The damp air carried the scent of the sweet treat as the two friends scooped up popcorn for the other ponies. With all the excitement, Caramel Crunch and Lemon Treats forgot about the movie and the dreary, rainy day.
