Overview
A resin sculpture featuring Discord and Fluttershy, in a noticeably distinct style different from the FiM style, that makes the characters (especially Discord) look more animal-like
As you'd probably assume, this is a Collectors Figure, aimed at older fans/collectors
Release Info
This figure was announced/first displayed at New York Comic Con (NYCC) in (early) October of 2014. It then went on the WeLoveFine website for pre-order (on October 29th), with an estimated shipping date of late March 2015
It was a limited edition figure, and $100 upon release. Price raised to $160 in late 2015.
Originally only 1,200 figures were made. This was later changed to 1,400.
This is credited to a shipping incident breaking most of the figures, which caused them to produce more the second time around to “be on the safe side”, quote MLP Merch. This shipping incident caused huge delays, as not only did they have to manufacture new figures, there was added time for a more shipping-safe "redesign" to be developed and finalized before the second round of manufacturing.
[Initial report on damaged figures by MLP Merch, April 19, 2015]
The second set of re-designed figures were shipped disassembled, in pieces, with assembly required upon delivery. Because of this, many images you see when you look through sold listings on websites like Worthpoint, show the figure missing certain pieces - Most often Discord's wings or arms, sometimes his head and sometimes Fluttershy in her near-entirety, with only her tail remaining.
This change was done to “avoid more delicate features being damaged during travel”, as precaution after the initial incident
The parts are magnetic and attach to each other through that

The design for the figure appears on a T-Shirt sold by WeLoveFine in 2013 - This means, before the Discord Flutter on Figure was announced

Like most large-scale WeLoveFine figures, it included a bonus coin with intricate patterns, which was available only with pre-ordered figures
Figure also included an authenticity card
Box is decorated w/ drawing of sculpture, not as over the top decorative as some of their other figurine boxes

Comments:
I honestly really love this but it's not even worth putting on my wishlist, I'm never getting it
Someone in the comments of the MLP Merch announcement for it said "100 dollars is expensive to you?" after seeing people lamenting about the price. Bougie Brony moment? Like, even if you can afford that, don't pretend like you don't know $100 is expensive, especially for one individual item. It's literally My Little Ponies...
